Actually not that far.
I had their "Hybrid Theory" album and it had very cool "turntablist" tune. Very alike Dj Shadow and perhaps some old Coldcut stuff.

Their track Session has nothing to do with hiphop really  .
Its more freestyle/ambient.

Oooohhh.. speaking of Linkin Park .. check out the "Reanimated" album. Best mix album i'v heard in a long time.
Lots of good electronica influences .. and hip-hop/Rock .. Havent heard "Sessions" though. I'm affreid to admit it. But I really like Linkin, keep in mind that i had "Hybrid Theory" before they where world known.. (what a great excuse  )
