I´m trying to record an audio via line in, but I don´t know why I can´t make it... I tried Sound Forge 6.0 and Wavelab 4.0. In both program it seems like line in is not working. Nothing is recorded.

On Wavelab I tried change Card Input(there´re WIndows and Via WAVE) but nothing changed... Maybe my line in that´s not working??? Or maybe there´s a secret tip??
Is there any way(or program) to test if my line in is working??? If the problem is my line in, what solution??? Buy another sound card??? Btw, my sound card is not good... No trademark, it´s probably from China...

Thanks in advance....           LOADING...

check for your input volume ... you can try it in Control Panel >Sound and Audio Devices> Advanced...> Options > Properties... somewhere around there

good luck!

Hi Vibraman, I already tried this!!! All volumes are "on" and loud. That´s why I think the problem is my line in.

And sYnthrOid, I don´t know the name of my card, probably cause it´s realy a shit.... I don´t know if only here we have this kind of computers, that have all "generics" components(sound card, audio card, fax/modem).....           LOADING...

Some sound cards have a jumper on it to switch between Digital In and Line In. Probably your sound card is switched to get line in from your DIGITAL CD connection.
That was excatly my problem with Terratec XFire 1024 and SPID/F in.           Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.

double click on windows volume control (the yellow speaker on botom right corner) then choose properties and go to recording and choose line in or cd what or what ever you want then return to volume control and unmute all.
Then on the program you use choose the record to line in.
This way it should work if it doesn't try to find new drivers for your card sometimes its drivers problem.

If you have done all this and your card is still
not working look at the properties of the
software you are working with, and check
the configurations!

Maybe your cards line in is dead...broken...bom

dunno if this will help u or not, but i had the same problem on my laptop (with generic on-board audio card) couldn't get a line in signal etc.
the solution was that there is a mic. located on the outside of the laptop with a little on/off switch.
it was set to 'on' therefore over-riding any software settings in programs to record from the line in.
once i set it to off, i got the line signal.

hope this helps

So you probably need to think about some new soundcard, I'd suggest you to go for a Extidgy Creative Box, it will not really make your quality better, but you will enjoy it.           Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.

By the way - it CAN improve quality, as it is 24b card.           Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.
