hey i know this might sound like a lame question.. but please i would like ur advice here.. is it more preffered to use a snare or a hi hat on a kik.. and if a hi hat.. then a closed or open ?? thanx a lot ppl..

They all give diffrent reactions!...
preffered?... well, thats something u need to decide for your self - whats'f fitting YOUR track... the standard is a bass on each beat, snare on the 2nd and 4th, and hihats on the off-bit. thats the house standart, trance use it as well. the diffrence between tracks usually is the kind of drum u picked, tight drum wide drum, did u give it some reverb, some delay to sound continous etc'...
after u got that simple rythem, try to change the snare to a clap or a diffrent snare, try to change the base rythem, put the bass in some off-beats, play with the hihat some more, use an open hihat on the offbeats and a closed one on the beats, use ride on the beat, make variations, play with the rythem a bit, u'll see for your self whats right and wrong for you...
thats about it, hope i helped a bit.

thanx a lot weaver and superglue.. really appreciate the help.. i wanted to learn howto make my track go faster.. and now im gonna try playin a lot with the hi's and snarez.. thanx a lot guys.
