Hi all,
I am interested to know how your everyday life is like say for one week or a particular day. This is directed to Djs, Label Managers and Artists. Maybe you guys can share with us some details? Are you just full time or you have another job as well? Tell us! Maybe some crazy stuff? Like first thing when you get up, before heading to bed, amount of mails, maybe how u get ready for a gig, food, drinks etc. I think most of the listeners would be at least interested, well I am besides hearing what the mainstream producers does like Tiesto etc does from interviews on various mags sold. Please share |

the artist (ok, im not big one) is just a 3%-part of myself... and i think this is the usual form...
its just a hobby for relaxing behind the homestudio 2-10 hours the week... thats all..
this is no big thing. |

ouch!
so, i guess there is no formula on how u live ur life as an artist, dj or with a label - all depends how much u put into it...the more u work for it the more comes back to you, and then u can be totally swamped with work. u can also decide to close ur shop and chill, and then u do....
but in general having a party or two every weekend can be totally exhausting, and i cant imagine how the "big names" handle it, when they are globethrotting all the time...
it gets tough at a certain point to manage ur private sphere with the public...and like always its less glamourous then it appears...

Ok, let me describe you one day in my busy life as an international supasta artist and dj:
8:00 Wake up, thai massage, shower and then breakfast while reading the morning paper.
9:00 On the phone with my account manager getting the latest updates on my finantial investments.
9:30 Cuba Libre in the limousine, on the way to the airport.
10:00 Departure on my private jet, destination Cape Verde Islands.
10:00 - 12:00 While on board: checking my emails (5 new emails from Madonna asking me to do a remix of her latest hit), surfing through isratrance forum, laughing my ass off with some of the posts. Cuba Libre.
12:00 Arrival.
12:15 Sailing in a yatch with an all-female crew in g-string bikini.
12:30 Caught a 40kg sword-fish.
13:00 Massage and other pleasurable activities in my private chamber with two membres of the crew.
14:00 Lunch: swordfish, preaviously caught, accompanied by a bottle of Krug. Strong coffe and a big fat joint
14:30 Sailing back to the island.
15:00 Retourn flight home
15:00 - 17:00 While on board, checking the latest from international markets. My stocks have risen 658%. Cuba Libre.
17:00 Arrival.
17:15 - Limousine on my way to the studio.
17:30 - 19:30 In the studio, working on my latest album, which will include colaborations with Son Kite, Antix, Tsuyoshi and Kingkade. 2 Cubas Libres.
19:45 - Together with my best friends, watching Porto's Match in the Champions League. Switching to beer now . Another conving win...
21:30 Dinner
22:00 Small after-dinner party by the pool, with friends and 20 foreign student girls from sweden.
0:00 Escape from the party to go the toilett. 20 minutes of pure relaxation while
01:30 Going to bed.
01:31 Massive fart.
01:32 Falling asleep while laughing
That's it |

okay, well, first off, jingabe, you rock man.. hehehe.. thumbs up to your post..
for me, dj'ing is more of a passtime than anything.. since promotors have hard times funding parties, 83% of the times i play at parties, its for free.... so durring the week, i work my ass off trying to save up enough money to get the new releases from saikosounds.. hehe..
When i get home from work, i mix a bit.. (anywhere from 25 to 95 minutes, depending on how the first couple of mixes go), then off to smoke a fat joint, and play with cubass until i get tired of going nowhere.. lol.. off to bed then repeat day after day..
on a lucky day, i'd replace mixing with sex...

I often find myself doing this most of every day:
playing the whislte...
arranging studio projects...
surfing the web for hot chix...
playing the whistle again...
HEY! I was going to the gym in the past !
Crackling universes dive into their own neverending crackle...

Nope... this kind of music doesn't really pay off, so we have jobs and stuff. But it's cool.. We don't wanna go pro, because we feel that it would kill the inspiration. Don't like to have the pressured need of making tunes to survive.. That really kills the music!!!

My typical day...
12:00 Wake up
12:01 Play some ambient and turn on the computer, checking e-mails and receiving 10 messages on msn since when i open outlook msn automatically connects.... Trying to get rid of people who ask for music and promos and ask to friends to give me few minutes to have breakfast
13:00 check my post box to see if I received some good stuff...
Spending the afternoon on documents and internet, keeping msn on to talk to friends.. Having lunch at 4-5 pm (my timetable is set on a different time zone...)
Have dinner and meet friends... listen to music, drink and have couple of ch...ms
Spend the night on the computer.
Going to sleep at 5-6 am.. can't help myself..
Usually leaving on friday or saturday to play some gigs...
Nothing really special but can't complain
