I give you the advice to learn percussions, djembe/ conga/ bongos for example or drumming. Its good to connect your heart and body to groove. Play with more people to get the feeling what sounds good together. Learn to communicate. You can transfer this into your computer later. Maybe its another good way to learn this in front of your computer, I don't know, I took the other way ;-)
And I agree with some of the writers before, its good to play instruments (keys) as well and to learn a bit about music theory. Knowledge is power also in music. Maybe its not necessary but it can help you a lot.

try the piano.. eaiest instrument to begin with
don't start with a violin..
