Helloooooo friends....
Can someone please give me some direction on how i shouod approach learning a Synth.
I got the Albino 2 yesterday but i have no idea how to work the damn thing.
What should i be looking for to help me get the best sounds out of it? What is the best approach (if there is one) to learn a synth? If someone could help me or give me tips with regards to Albino, it would be really helpful.
I hope i make some sense...
also, I'm really nw to this music making business. so, if possible please explain in some simple terms.
Love and Light. |

i've just found a nice site with some knowledge you need to start with, I assumed your _realy_ new into producing music
http://hem.passagen.se/tkolb/art/synth/intro_e.htm
some things you have to know for almost every synthesizer, as how filters work, what envelopes are and how to use them, waveforms, modulation, the use of lfo and so on.
hope this helps a bit, give google something to search and play around with albino (imho, a nice and relatively "easy to learn" but still advanced synth).

This tutorial has your name all on it ...

That should give you a basic idea on one of the things you can do with the albino.
I personally love this instrument. If it were available as hardware, I'd probably buy it.

No prob... The albino is the one instrument that I use in all of my songs somehow, it's just so versitile and I really really love being able to use a modulation matrix...

interesting, do you have this book? i may get it. i like learning the science and tech behind synths. does it cover that sort of thing? for example, does it explain stuff like what filters do, what different LFOs do, etc? |

hey soft.
yes i realy do recommend this book!
you can fart around with synths for ages because its fun and you can learn lots in that way, BUT, if you know the theory behind
the building blocks and what manipulates what
etc...youl get to results much faster and youl know what to do in order to get it.
this book is a fantastic book, its technical
but its writen in a way that everyone could understand it...check it out. |

@Soft:
Check Karmaceuticals link as well. Its a great read.
But i'm a beginner who had no idea about Synths and some of the things in there are quite interesting. fascinating to me
@Orik:
Is that book really technical? i mean, is it written at a beginner level or is it advanced?
Thanks.
