wow thanks jizy! and off coarse colin for his explanation about M/S! is there a website or pdf file that explains it even more from scratch..im still trying to grab a hold of how the process works in ableton live...i have the M/S plugin from voxengo now how would i use it? do i have to put the kick and bass routed to another audio channel with the lead that i want to swing to the sides? then put the voxengo plugin in that audio track as an insert?
i think im kind of lost ....any help or redirection to a website?
thanks again

check pm mate, the bueaty of it is, that with this type of processing u can do anything u want to the stereo information that wont effect mono compatibilty because the two elemts are split for you to probe each one to your liking so to speak.

One thing that will help you a lot like most said is to eq your leads, cut the bass. Also compression & side chaining is a key factor......But the most important thing when working with the above and all the rest is to have good monitoring! , great speakers lead to perfection, so do great headphones, an example are the audio technica ath-m50. |

Hey bro, sometimes igot same problem! The answer is CОMPRESSION! If u fill mid freq don't blowing your mid waves, just compress with mid range atack 20ms add little gain ,DON'T USE WAVES compressors on your vst track l its has some negative effect, group your midle freq vst ,eq it and Compress it with compesso like oxford's stuff! Good luck |

Try to have your leads highpassed so that barely or nothing under 200hz really goes thru, turn up leads and bandpass filter something around the 2000 hz frequency out to compensate for the turnup in lead. Don't forget to compress the lead. As a matter of fact the leads are what I tend to compress most often since I like to put fx on those and that sometimes hurts the overall amplitude and makes them at times less and at times more loud.. If your leads fill are waaaay stereo turn them up a tad more, since they more (or less) come only out of one speaker at a time it helps to raise the db level around another 2-3 db...
