Hi i´ve started to layer my basslines at several ocktaves for example c2 , c3 , c4
and got quite good results.
The problem is that the bas doesn´t sound
clear and theres some phasing problems.
Anyone who knows how to solve this?

Thankful for any help!

What synth do you use? Is there no phase adjustment possible here?

Some equalizing/filtering, to limit the tracks' interference?

If you get phasing try to offset the layers so that they do not hit all at the same time. Or use a filter or EQ to separate its frequency spectrum so that they can clush.           http://facebook.com/ansolas

yes. They have to be different, yet complement each other.

you can even think in chords (Go powerchords! ) and simply play the chords instead of single notes.

But IMO it's not something that's very common.. so, more room to innovate!

Keep in mind that the more you layer the less space you're gonna have for the rest of the sounds.

Layering like this would be a good idea when the kick and bass starts off alone- then fade out the layers as you introduce the leads.

Do u mean layering the same bass/synth? If so, I´ve never used this.

If u mean using two types/sources of basslines, it indeed can lead to phase problems. My first try, if the overall sound is what u are looking for, is bounce each layer, than each note. And then mess it little bit to find any sweet spot. (mess with the position. Snap/Quantize function off)

Back in the early 00´s my main bass was "VB1 + Neon".

interesting.

if you double or even triple the same bass channel the only thing you'll get is more of the same, but louder! no phase issues.

No because each layer is on a different octave. The higher you go the lower the volume needs to be on those because you dont want the higher octaves drowning the low end of the bassline. With Sylenth1 you can shift the phase of each OSC.
