Any idea why latency occurs when i put i put my signal through Spektral Delay? I've tried different settings and presets, so it's not about the settings i guess?

Can't be CPU overload cause i tried it in an empty cubase project.

Im running Cubase, with m-audio audiophile 2496(Latency 512 samples), 512MB ram, win2000...

i had some latency problems, but different ones, with automatations with SX2 and when i updated to SX3 they disapeared as fast as they apeared. if not i have no idea... try changing the sound driver.

spektral delay is so called fft-based plugin which processes the audio in chunks. first takes something like 1024 samples, transforms them to frequency space, does the effect and then converts it back. so delay of 1024 samples is introduced.

I'm not sure if you can control that. But that could be reason for the delay...

or if you use it on INSERT and have it on 100% mix, it will not play up the originalsound only the echo/delay.
Some plugs is like that, some are not. But "real" gear works like that.

If thats the case, you should put it as an FX send. Then you can adjust eq and so on for the delay without changing the character of the source/original sound.
