What´s up, Montezuma...
...hey man, what sound card are you using? maybe it´s the game port latency, try used at usb or midi port (it´s better).

depends on your sound card and i'm talking about cubase so in the device setup make sure you're selecting directly the sound card name and not the ASIO multimedia one,
This should solve the latency problem, Space is the place

If it is connected to game port i think it is a soundblaster card (or alike one, or onboard sound),
because they use game port as midi port.
So i think you can, like Input said, directly change
the setup for your soundcard to a ahort latency,
but this will help only if you use only some vstis, with
only one you will get a short, but if you load a hole song
i think it will be longer latency. I don't know what
kind of pc you have, but even with a fast one, a hole
song with some vstis and lots of effects and audio
stuff need time to render.
