Hey everyone,
I have an annoying problem, whenever I play audio on WMP or any other media player and type keys on my keyboard (not midi keyboard) I get some kind of weird audio time-stretching.It sounds just like when u decrease a tempo of the song u r listening to whenever u r typing with your keyboard. I know it's kinda weird, but do u guys ever encountered anything similar?
My Specs:
M-Adio Audiophile 192
Athlon 3200+
512mb dual ddr
PS/2 Logitech keyboard (using without any Logitech drivers) |

Hi
A good starting point would be your bios. (press the delete key right after you start your computer)
Check for a function called cpu spread. Set it to the opposite it is set now.
Also check for irq conflicts, though I don't think this is the problem, as I had this strange behaviour too with my mainboard. The first tip fixed it for me. Oh yeah almost forgot, if that doesn't fix it, get a usb keyboard.
Good luck

tx for a quick reply, sideFXed
so u r suggeting that if I'll get a new keyboard (USB or Cordless, or Bluetooth) my problem will be solved without tweaking my bios settings? |

well try the bios solution anyway, you can save some bucks. but another keyboard without ps/2 should do the trick also.
I'm not sure what I should suggest you, there are many ways to solve it. Can't give you any more hints, you gotta decide.
come back here and tell me if it worked. I'm always interested in computer problem solving

sideFXed u r life saver
I didn't find anything like CPU Spread in my bios but I found instead "FSB Spread Spectrum", I believe it's the same thing though.. So this was disabled for me, and I brought it up to [0.50%]. I still can bring it up up to 1%, but i'm not sure if I should do it.
Everything works smooth now,
tx a lot again mate |
