sell it... and get a better soundcard...
i also had serious problems with this card, if you want to keep using it, download asio4all, to be found here:
http://tippach.business.t-online.de/asio4all/A4Av2Ins.exe
and install that on top of the other one... then you might get some better latency... good luck! |

i wish i could afford d RME dude! unfortunately all i can afford right now is something under $500...d only one's good enough at that price seemed to b d Presonus Firebox & Edirol Fa-66...
I read that presonus firebox has excellent pre-amps..But i'm sick of latency n driver issues so i wanna get a problem free firewire card for my laptop...Comments from ppl who already own one of these or a firewire card in d same budget would b helpful! thanks...

ok
dont forget that what u pay is what u get.
and u speack about pre amps. and latency. so i presume u are looking for a audio and midi interface right? in that case is even harder to find good quality under low budget i think.
u can ivest that in a audio sound card, good enough for that price. for shure u can get great sound and probably with pre amps too. ( same case if u buy pre amp apart is better. kuality meens a lot really)
and also midi interface, in these case is much cheaper than a audio one but this way u can set ur sound card proprely and acording to your budgets.
im shure thre are lots of fans of sound cards with both included ( mine actually haves midi and audio togheter, and i regret cant use more than 1 midi in and out only if i buy other midi sockets, but is an exelent audio card for me, and also midi, just the sockets thing really)
im not informed about the current best portable and cheap sound cards for you. hope some one can help you ..

lo again.. we havent really talked about soundquality here, when i got an audiophile USB for my laptop i was in shock, i had a RME digi 96 PST and i couldnt believe the sound of the M-audio... plastic !!!! Also the fact that its USB isn't really comforting me. I haven't dug into the firewire cards yet, but i will definitely get RME or MOTU as a next card, for now im working with the Echo Indigo DJ, which is pretty ok, these people also make a firewire version, so perhaps check that out. Haven't heard the Edirol fa-66 or Presonus firebox , so can't tell you guys anything about that... good luck ! |
