IMO, Haltya's trip was really bad, and he's lucky nothing more serious happened to him, given the official and personal aggressiveness he experienced throughout his stay in Israel. Despite laughing a little about "the faggots", the whole rest of his story was just a step from a real nightmare. I, and you too, have heard of foreigners disappearing in a distant country without a trace and this happens even in every country (actually I have a friend who has just vanished in Japan, the last we heard he had a real bad situation in Osaka, Japanese mafia HQs). I even dare say that Haltya was somehow naive, betting that nothing bad would happen to him. If I were him, the first thing I would do was to go to my embassy in Tel Aviv and let them know what I was going through, and I would make it very clear to those f***ing organizers that I had done so. As a reader's advice: before you accept being booked, check the organization's reputation. It's quite easy these days. You can google them, ask here in Isratrance or Psynews, there are a lot of people who can give you hints on that.

look, i dont think its naive to go and play music in another country at all when you are invited. thats the idea for us psysters. it would be naive not to do so just because of fear. music is stronger than that.
in this case the production hasamba also brought for example shpongle etc, so they had an ok status from what i heard. not anymore though in my book.

---------------

people are kinda getting political and off topic here.

I dont think it's naive to say no thanks to a booking out of fear. Each to his own. Just as its OK you go and play.

And yes this has gone way too political. I am surprised that the mods haven't stopped it by now.

Yes this has gone too political as Kris said

Remember when this website was created

PLUR trance

Not this moaning about what country has crappy security

If I read this correctly, Haltya had a flight from Portugal to Israel - aka gig hopping

When you hop from one country to the next, without going 'home', you're most certainly going to encounter freaky situations because you are no longer 'grounded' as yourself

My guess is that in Portugal you were nice and chilled out, then you hit Israel and the culture shock was so extreme that you weren't prepared for it

No disrespect, but I think you need to stay 'home' based and do gigs one at a time, not try to string them together

If that makes sense

it doesn't. at all.

If anything, Haltya's story shows that even in the most dire of circumstances he kept his relative cool.

Culture shock? IDK man, if you're an experienced psy artist and have traveled around the world multiple times as he has, I doubt culture shock is much of an issue. douchebag shock yes, culture shock no.            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe

This is where you're wrong - I have travelled as more than a psy artist - many other genres have artists play in lots of countries

This isn't a psy thing - it's bigger than that

He admitted he was low with flu

That made his situation much worse feeling bad

The big problem with , as you say 'psy' artists, is just that

I was in Eilat 4 months ago playing vocal trance lol. Had no problems whatsoever with airport or organisers.

My best guess is he was a bit jaded after Portugal and didn't get along with the way of things - do you see Texas Faggot complaining about the same party?

Acid fucks your head up IF you hop from country to country. So I stand by my statement about being grounded

Grounded is totally an individual's state of mind. Not related to whether they go back 'home' physically or not. That's ridiculous and rather naive. Not everyone needs to curl up in their own bed every few weeks to feel secure and grounded. Some can take it with them.

Anyway, treated poorly by others is treated poorly by others, no matter what your state your mind is in. No excuses.

Mate, curling up in your own bed is your interpretation of grounded lol. Nice to know you like to curl up.

It isn't ridiculous at all. You trip in one country, then jet set to another, still with after effects of it. Obviously there will be repurcussions

And fuck off with the excuses part - I never said that

What I do say is ' what do Texas Faggot have to say about the same gig'

so just becuase you play at the same gig, you are treated the same as everyone else? Just because you play psy music you must obviously be on acid 24/7?

This has absolutely nothing to do with what type of music the OP plays, or how many drugs he has done???

He was treated extremely poorly, from all angles. Sure, him being sick definitely didn't help matters (btw, being sick with flu is not the same as an acid grey day/hangover..just so you know..) ...but your statements are very strange...you are basically saying that Haltya was at fault here because he did too many drugs in the past and thus manifested a shitty experience?

He's been to israel multiple times before, and has said that this was an isolated incident. Multiple people have chimed in saying that yes, those organizers are fucktards.

This has absolutely nothing to do at all with acid. Where did you get this from. You make no sense at all. Also, acid doesn't fuck your head up. YOU fuck your head up. Drugs are tools, not excuses.

This is the fault of asshole organizers, not drugs, not music, certainly not haltya. At least that's the impression that I get reading the thread in its entirety, which judging from your comments I doubt you did.

'curling up in bed' was meant to be sarcastic actually. I was trying to find something nice and sugary for you Betty Boop

but I agree, would be good to hear what TF have to say about the same gig.

(btw Can you repeat the excuses sentence without using the f word. Curious cos it is well written that way but I'd like to see it written differently yet still retain the same vigor. )
