Sad story, good to know you're safe and in better health conditions.
Thank you for taking the time to post it here, I took the time to read it all (and believe me, I'm very busy), and you acted bravely.
If I were in your place, right after the hotel room invasion I would probably take a cab to another hotel somewhere safe and never return any of their phone calls. I don't mind paying it from my pocket, clearly it is not safe to stay around these guys.
On a second thought, they would probably kill me in the airport before I leave...
Respect!

After being threatened I would have runned to the embassy of my country XD

hi carl,
saintcarl wrote:
I think you may have misunderstood what said.
Elaborating:
It appears much of your suffering revolved around the fact that you arrived sick and tired which I take it was no fault of the said organizers.
yes being sick made it all like x 10 worse.
-whore hotel
- not feeding the artist
- death threats (and additional mystery threat)
those are points that are very serious.
saintcarl wrote:
The PA guy was probably also acting on his own accord.
yep, that was his very own personal psycho flip-out of the PA (sound system) guy. He was part of the crew though, and his sister was one of the organizers of the event.
saintcarl wrote:
So I take it you are not blaming anyone? Just a bad luck DJ travel story.
blame money and stupidity.
i blame me for not asking everything 100% in advance and going to play for such young and ignorant organizers without soul.
but yes this was a steady stream of unfortunate coincidences.
saintcarl wrote:
Also a question?
Did they pay you nothing at all for either gig? Hotel? Airfare? It is not clear.
- 1 out of 2 gigs left unpayed.
- friends lost (downgraded to the status of: people i know)
its hard enough to go through something like this, but to loose all your friends because of lack of trust in the process is even harder.
i asked for help from my friends, and received none. That is the sickest part of it all.
I seriously hope nothing like this would ever happen to you. ever.

It appears your situation may have been more tolerable had you not arrived sick and tired.
Hard to blame that on Israel.
just saying

yeah ok i see. so if im sick then its ok to threaten to kill me, not feeding the artists, grabing my ass and spit-shouting sick thoughts in my face, putting me to sleep in a whore hotel and leave my gig fee unpayed? you dont make much sense.
just take whatever you can get out of the story.

This story makes me feel really lucky to have an Israeli passport - entering the country at the airport becomes so much easier.
Sorry to hear about your story. Shit happens.

more than intelligent, he took it with a humoristic point of view, which i think is what got him through it... i doubt 90% of the people i know would have taken it like this with a pinch of humor...
btw, that gig in the airport is so surreal... i'd love to hack the airport secuirty cameras to see that performance - both to show how security can step so low as to humiliate someone and from another point, how funny that situation was |

yeah, i wonder if they ask for example a barber to cut their hair to make sure he knows what he is doing. quite interesting way to get services for free:) |
