i thought of posting this thread here on general discussion trance too. perhaps its more suitable here.

Not all of my trips as Haltya to the holy-land have been a disaster, but I had such a nightmare trip to Israel last time that i thought of posting my story here for everybody to read. I tried to make a bad situation sound funny, so here goes..

Unfortunately isratrance wouldnt let me post the whole text on this forum as it was too long, so instead i put it up on my blog :

happy reading

That's very fucked up. I've been booked to play in Israel in February; it was a hard enough decision to accept the booking in the first place but now I'm really praying it's not for the same promoter!

I hope itll be ok on your part. my trip was just complete crazyness, and very bad luck.
It might have just been a weak moment from this particular promotor, and a steady flow of unfortunate coincidences.
but yeah, i wouldnt play for hasamba.

Hello Tommy.

First thing I want to tell you that in my opinion you create amazing and extra groovy music. I got to see you twice in Israel: a small production more than two years ago a great Festival eight months ago. Excellent performance, full of energy, really ten out of ten.

It saddens me to hear about the bad experiences you had here and I want to apologize on behalf of all of those stupid that hurt you (and unfortunately there were quite a few).

We both agree with the fact that music can connect people of all nationality, religion, race, class, gender and so on. Especially trance music, which has no verbal message, and so is "breaking" the language barrier, which is the main problem in communication between different cultures.

This post is not about politics! (Maybe someone should open one) but I have also to remark some polticis about your post: before,I will tell that I am a peace activist for almost twenty years, since the age of twelve. I, and many more like me in Israel, understand that peace is the only solution to problems in the Middle East, and tt is said by one of Israel's past leaders: "You make peace with enemies, not with friends."
The claim that Israel is trying to partially preserve its neighbors into a third world is false. Israel has, over the years, many steps to promote its neighbors, and promotion of minorities within it with the understanding that the principles of democracy and economic prosperity will contribute to the stability and prospects for regional peace. Obviously there's always room for improvement but there is no Israeli interest in perpetuating ignorant. (And must remember that Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East.)

Those "hypnotized children" you're talking about I call evil terrorists who attack innocent indiscriminately. As a former fighter in the I.D.F I can assure you that the Israeli army invests his energy as possible to avoid harming the innocent.
Of course there are exceptions investigated and punished Omametym ashamed of my country and its people. And this is just one reason why Israel must pursue peace. As U- Reacken said: "If we learned anything from history is that power corrupts, and absolute power corrupt absolutely"
And I think exactly the case with the same sick fascist guy that you encountered in the party. Unfortunately, in Israel there are people crazy. But I can assure you that this person was not even a fighter, maybe a cook or a driver .... Israeli army soldiers understand the sanctity of life is a value that accompanies the Jews for more than three thousand years. Maybe I can compare your feelings at that moment to the feeling has passed me when drunk asshole called to my wife and me: "Dirty Jews" in the middle of the set of Union Jake (peak of irony) during last Ozora(and this was the only day my wife was able to force me to take a shower ... Other days she settled in to force me to eat something and try to sleep more than six hours continuously ......) At that moment we were so shocked that we started to roll with laughter in front of him. The point is that there are stupid everywhere and we should take their nonsense LIMITED.

You mentioned that Israel is defined as a war zone, also mentioned a long trip to South America, where did you feel safer? Tel Aviv, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Palo, New Mexico, Lima .... Each country has its troubles ......

I am concerned to make every person who comes to visit me outside to Israel which, unfortunately, their first encounter with Israel would be nice because of the security check at the entrance. Sometimes I repeat the point so much that they laugh at me before they come flying and give me a look that a client from the book "1984" when they go from the airport. I can only say that the way the test are made "is written in blood" of civilians killed by terrorist acts on airplanes and airports. Nobody like strangers poking around his balls (One time I got back from India and they look in my balls..and I am a citizen here).
I can tell you that in the past I got to fly a lot to and in the United States as part of the job. Inspection ratio has changed 180 degrees after the disaster of 9.11. Once (which also strange man got the chance to looked me in the balls ..... erotic post I wrote here)
I asked the lovely lady that worked there if she had an explanation as to why time and time again I am detained and tested carefully (all in the territory of the country that defines itself as the mother of all democracies) She said: It is very clear Mr. .... *freak, it's because your Mediterranean hair line. So is this case made me start to pluck eyebrows and chest hair? (in my case also from the neck, shoulders and back ......)

As for those nasty criminals cheated you and made you uncomfortable, in my opinion you have to disclose their names so that we, the audience, we know exactly who these factors, and rare the feet of their events, they learn through the pocket it's not the way to treat an artist who brings you money.I read here Post by Juan Vardra, a huge artist that his middle name is smiles, happiness and a positive atmosphere, a similar experience I can assure you on behalf of my crew that we will never come closer to productions of those morons that spend scene a bad name.

Tommy, the only reason I invested so much time to write it because I really like the music, and scene, is very important to me the good name of my country will not hurt as a result of international political spins, second-class criminals and psychos on the LSD. Sounds like a real success of "experience"Israel to the deep, and recognize the extreme sub-cultures (including the religious who are looking for prostitutes)I hope all this will not prevent you continue to visit in this crazy wonderful country. I would love to recommend you or any other artist on Cool hotels, in the center area, and my wife and I invite you to stay in our house whenever you wish.

Two little questions:
1. Are there production, which appears in the blog, is the production in question?
2. What the hell is PA?

hi freak,

thanks for the long post.
yes there are crazy people everywhere.

as to your qustion to where i have felt safe :
safety is a multi-layered subject. i wouldnt start to compare israels situation with any other country at this moment.
youll be sure to hear about other disaster stories from my trips in the future, incl brazil, but this is another story. i wanted to exclusively concentrate on this one trip to israel and bring forth some up-close details to anybody interested in visiting the holy land.

as to your other questions:
you can read their names in my writings.
yes, the production in question is the production meantioned in the text.

i posted as well on the israel section, but you couldnt have said it better mr. freak.

by the names of the people mentioned in tommi's blog its hasamba (not a big fan of their parties anyways...).

i dont know the people personally but only by their names and faces, but i will definitely not go to any of their parties after reading about the way you were treated - like freak mentioned here, these kinds of people only learn by their pocket, and nothings more effective than boycotting their parties.

on another note, i really do hope that one of the crew's members who im pretty sure is active on this forum will step over and give his version to things, because honestly every coin has 2 sides and i dont wanna judge hearing only one side, altho it is pretty clear about the way you were treated.

peace

last edit (had to mention this) - i really loved your performance @ boom! was something else

colin - i pm'd you regarding your visit, please have a look

Hasamba are the organizers. Same ones that organize this event:

Edit: Just now saw the rest of the posts saying it's Hasamba.

They make awful productions.

yes, that would indeed be very interesting to read the promotors "official" version about my treatment and not paying my gig fee:) i already know what really happened.., but i have my popcorn ready and would love to be amused and read some more entertainment from them:)

They once brought Ozric Tentacles ( one of my favorite bands ), and it was absolutely terrible.

The whole production, most of the people, the place, everything.

Tommi I somehow doubt that they'll have half the decency to even come over and apologize not to mention giving their version... But it should be interesting

i doubt that they had such a bad experience with me that they would write many chapters about it, in the same way that i did. i did my job, they didnt.
