What i wrote come directly from the Waldorf site:

Largo is the first pure software synthesizer with Waldorf DNA. And again – it is the cutting edge sound that makes the big difference.

I think they would means that is the first vst synth relased after the reorganisation of the company. If i remember well Waldorf got some financial problem and stop the production (and the support) for a while. After that break we got the brand new bloefeld and largo.

I have to investigate more anyway...           http://soundcloud.com/alphadelphi

Youre correct, they stopped production after the Waldorf Q i think. Its a couple of years ago. But now they are back with Stromberg & Blofeld

looks interesting            Nocturnal Wizardz Recs
Bhooteshwara Records
Cubasing is like Freebasing, just with audio.
Both cost more than you can afford, and leaves you sitting in a dark room with no life, craving for more.

Apparently they are going to include all of the Microwave II wavetables as well as the Q wavetables.

The first release will not contain the Analog modeled PPG filter from the Q, but it may come in a later version.

So the only thing setting the blofeld apart from this will be a few FX and the PPG filter.

Looks great!

please, if there has ever been software that should not be pirated its this synth. Waldorf has taken a huge risk with releasing this software because it will almost certainly hurt blofield sales..If this is a success hopefully we will see other hardware companies release their algorithms into vst..If you pirate this synth, you are ruining that from ever happening.

have full understanding for your opinion - but still:
a software synth has much less production cost (per unit) than a hardware synth.
and they sell nothing really new - just something in another "package".

until now nobody recommend me the blofeld (psytrance-wise) - maybe if i have chance to test-drive the largo ...
the blofeld/stromberg might become more interesting to me - and this is probably the strategy they are playing.          http://www.myspace.com/realtimeproject

This isnt the first waldorf vsti i believe?

Isnt there a synth called Waldorf Attack, i might be wrong.

You're very right...
PPG Wave VSTi...
Attack...

these are all synths.

cheers.

And dont forget Waldorf also designed the A1 synth for Steinberg way back , an underestimated softsynth it is ...

Also worth a mention is that Steinbergs Halion Sampler used Waldorf designed Filter if that ever counts..

Btw does anyone know if the Waldorf MicroQ uses Analog filters?

Love the Blofeld and very curious about Largo, but well it's vst...whatever it is, it will never sound the same as true analogs
