I think that if u are running Logic Audio, u should go for a Mac laptop(g4) and buy the new Logic 7, wich comes with a lot of new features like plugins and synth´s!
Now, if u don´t want to buy a Mac, there´s two options: Pentium 4 or Centrino. I will open a thread to try to solve my doubts about the differnce between these two machines, but any of them will fix your needs to make music!
About the midi keybord. Well, if it´s usb, u just need a usb port on te laptop. If it´s via midi cable maybe u will need a converter(like midi-usb) or get a soundcard with midi in/out.
