anyone had any experience of using a laptop with the new centrino chip?
centrino chips offer X2 battery life and despite only clocking at 1.4ghz they perform just as good as a P4 2.5ghz, allegedly.
can anyone tell me any pitfalls to look out for when choosing a centrino system? |

centrino 1.4 will work at 1.4 and not faster.
if u put a regular cpu .. say 2.5 into a laptop, then with batteries it works slower than 2.5. this is where centrino differs.
but it is more than cpu - it also has some other stuff :

or go to intel for more info.
cheers.

yea cheers for the link.
so what your saying is that the centrino is only advantageous in situations using the battery.
mmm.... i cant really see many places where this would help me.
although taking a trek up the mountainside to write some psy while scoping the views could be pretty awesome!
