Labels! What are the different kinds of trance?

In this forum, a lot of labels are used to describe trance music.
And, in many cases, this forum seems to be split into 2 distinct camps: “the proggies” and “the full-ons.”
What are the various major and minor sub-groupings within trance?
If I'm going to use these labels in this forum, I think I should understand what they mean!
Can you give me definitions and examples, please! |

OK, there are some terms.
But what do they mean, exactly?
Is it possible to create definitions for these terms?
Is there an artist or song that is a suitable representative for each kind of trance? |

you have very many kinds but very many and the difference between some of them is very little
just dont get into all that stuff because you will be very tired after that
house also can be progressive,deep so...
but as you said kaatisu there are 2 or more camps
the full on,the minimal..... |

man, ive seen this topic so many times b4!!
no 1 can define exacly the different kinds of trance...
its just 2 complicated!! i think that if u wanna know and understand more u`ve gotta go thru all the music u`rself! you can read about "full-on, minimal, psychadellic, morning, night, progressive, bla, bla, bla & bla"- then u`ll know all the terms (labels) but its only words... one guy will tell you that Atmos (4 example) is minimalistic, another guy will say its psychadellic and so on... and they`ll all b right!
So my advice is- take time and bomb u`rself with TRANCE...
If after that youll need any labels p.m me! ;-)
