I dont think that it is wrong for people to take their grievances public. Basilisk put it very well in his explanation of why the "court of public opinion" is all we have (well, short of violence) to enforce debt, as we cannot (and probably should not) rely on official channels to handle these disputes.
I do think though that even for the court of public opinion, evidence is required. It would be good if artists/labels/promotors would sign non legally binding, handwritten agreements, not in legal terms, but in terms which are clear in meaning (ie. I agree to release the rights to the track to this label, I agree to pay this amount of money by this date, I have received the agreed upon payment etc).
People could scan them and send them to eachother via email at the time of making the agreement, and then post the agreement publicly if need be.
That way it wouldn't be a he-said-she-said popularity contest.

I dont shout to Rawar in particular,i dont even know the guy,i am shouting to all those wannabe artists that send their music to every label on the planet just in case someone decides to release it under any terms and after the cd is out suddenly they feel important and ask about money and royalties and contracts which they didnt when they were begging for someone to release their tunes.
And just for your info i never signed any contract with none of my artists/distributors/partners in any of my releases and you know why?Because i got that bad habbit of paying all the people who i work with in advance. And i call that habbit a bad one because now many people owe me money while i dont owe to none and the funniest thing is that i dont have any papers to prove that in courts so that i can leggally chase them.Ofcourse, unfortunately for them, i never liked courts anyway because like my dad used to say "only women solve their problems through courts"

ok , its like this , i dont want the money at all my friends , i just want to know news about the release and just like to have a leagl contract because after i recive the one i got i chek it a few months after with the right persons and the contract was no good .
as to the wanna be artists that want to release at any cost , i must say i was like that yes , but these case i have talk in particular was not the case , i have agree with no money in front just after the sales , but how can i be quiet if not even a fuck off man they give me , if they dont even bother to send the artists the sales numbers .
i give tracks my friends but a deal its a deal , and if you got a deal you must respect him .
after all , artists dont get rich or dont live selling music , at least psytrance artists , at most they can live from the performances at partys but with seling music i seriously desagree . but , its a deal and if you got it you must be honest , i´m not just talking about bad payment brothers , seams all of you are seeing just that , i´m talking also tracks that you give for VAs that never hapen or you never see a fucking copy on your mail box etc etc etc .

Ahhh so now it's clear what drives Detox... His argument against courts isnt that they dont work, but that "women use them"
Please Detox, tell us more about your views on gender relations! Youve expressed some pretty incredible ones in the past
We'll you're Greek so I guess unenlightened views about these things are to be expected. I'll never forget the time you said that women dressing provocatively excuses rape. ROFL Detox why do you feel the need to incessantly call attention to how much you suck?
Courts are good. Courts allow things to be solved in an organized way without violence. Violence is bad. If everyone went and tried to get their money themselves and these things were all solved by "might makes right" there would be total chaos. Psytrancers would be killing eachother right and left like a bunch of fucking rappers. That's what the result is of your idiotic pre-20th century ideas would be.

I doubt you even know where Greece is on the world map (not to mention its history that is 3500 years older than your country) so say what you want about me and my views but leave my country alone.
P.S And please try not to alter my words in a hopeless effort to make me look like a misogynist,i never said that the provocative dressing of women EXCUSES rape,i said that their provocative dressing may cause them many problems including being raped so they should try and dress a little bit more conservative.

Artists - wannabes, bad and good, lol - should start thinking of releasing their tracks in digital format, like Chi-ad and most recently Opsy did.
I think in the long run, Beatport will be king among electronic music genres.
The plusses are enormous at Beatport: a buyer can, well, buy, his fav track and make his own compilations instead of buying a CD with 9 horrible tracks and 1 worth listening to. What leads to non-sales, angry ¨talented¨ artists, labels gone bankrupt, etc...

I can say there is 1 label who I will complain about if they don't send me the copies of the Compilation...
The annoying thing is when all your friends have an original of the CD and u are still waiting for the label to get their shit together to send it...
Last time I will ever "donate" a track to a new label.

Too many labels, too many artists, too many too many... main problem. And regarding to what I've heard from my friends involved in music producing trying to get released, most of the labels wouldn't even survive if they'd actually spend money on their releases. Or that's what they say anyway. |

its easy to say this now...
but i really want to see when, by some mistake, you have some problem sending the payment to some artist rls on your label, and in the next day you see a topic in isratrance saying
"boycot dacru records"
maybe we should start to do the same with artists
and when they have some problem and couldnt appear in a party or some mistake, on the next day write here to boycout them...fair enough?

i agree. With more and more labels being created everyday its natural that many of those labels are not professional
so what are you going to do? Are you going to spend your day hunting bad labels? good luck..
go work, care about your life, find a good label and forget who dont want to be professional
Dont surprise that the majority of the artists that post this kind of stuff are newcomers
.. and you dont see much eat static, astrix or xenomorph hunting bad labels in isratrance. They have more to do in life.
