hey, thanks for all words... positives and negatives.
i think some persons got the same point of view and some not, thats normal and real good for all kind discussion.
anyway,
We said that will publish the list on our myspace.. not on isratrance. The israforum was just a way to inform and had short discussion about it.
And well... It isn't lot of labels, will be very short list, and we tried to solve the situation for long time with all kind of possibilities, for example: some labels that didn't pay with the agreement money at the end paid with CD's... we did it with 2 labels this year to solve this situation. But the problem its really with the bad business guys, using another example: we are waiting a payment from a label of a track released in 2006.
Inside this subject we have a question of respect and there are many labels that solve the payment with other purposes, you can feel when a person respect you and your job.
so... me and Fabio are not really interested in recieve what was purpose, bonus, $$$, bytheway if it happens (between this time) good... great. The real intention of this Redlist its to be one way to protest about this very usual situation between artists/labels.
Thats only it...
All the best

ok i understand that sometimes exposing some facts helps in some situations, and gives newcomers some facts to think about some labels.
but one thing that pisses me, is that artist come complain...later the men behind the label goes and pays the money, and the artist comes and tells the public that all was a matter of bad understanding, and how good the label is etc etc... ... |

From reading all these threads started by producers with bad experiences with certain labels, I think you need to really make sure that the labels you'll be listing are actually ripping people off. Check with other people that have worked with the label too..you don't want to be giving someone that only you had a mix up with a bad name..
  You believe in the users?
Yeah, sure. If I don't have a user, then who wrote me? |

Obviously, every artist speaks for himself. Each opinion is personal and only involves the artist's own experience.

Im with Baphomet on this one... Its true that names should be investigated before listed, but there is still plenty of labels to be warned against. A such list would help newcommers against the most obvious scammers.

That's actually a good idea. But Blacklisted labels would be a better idea, don't u think?
The one prob is you'll have to do a big work, since the number of "uncorrect" labels is huge...
Don't forget psytrance and professionalism are two words that are not connected very well together... |

I´m with BE. You worked, you must get paid.
BUT! And that´s a big BUT, in most cases I think artists don´t get paid simply because the CD which featured their tracks DID NOT SELL MORE THAN 50 COPIES. Being realistic:
1. psy scene, and potential psy-CDs buyers, are very small and getting fewer by the year.
2. there are more releases weekly than listeners. The tiny psy market is overflooded with them.
3. these releases often are very poor when it comes to ¨being good tracks¨, and they soon fade into oblivion.
4. certailnly most tracks are not bought, but they definetely are downloaded ilegally.
All this added together, do you really think that an album sells more than 20, 50 copies? I don´t think so. I bet there must be albums which didn´t sell 5 copies.
So, hard to ask for payments when there are no sellings.

That actually depends on the album, but wouldn't suprise me that some albums don't sell more...
The ppl that release mp3 rips are killing the scene and ppl that are not buying the music also, there are a shit load of producers and im talking about major players ppl with several albums out and more then 30releases on compilations, that are progressivly stoping to make psy-trance to make electro or minimal techno or even pop, cause they are feed-up with only selling from 300 to 600 copies of their albums... And im fucking one of them...
If there isn't a drastic change in the next 3 years which i doubt there will be, you will probably see the situation get a lot worse and you will be stuck with your releases with crappy covers cause the labels have to make the artwork themselfs cause they don't have any money hiring a proffesional designer and of course the music doesn't get better cause all the tracks where given free from kids who give there tracks cause they still live in their mom's basement and don't have to pay a rent or food at the end of the month...
oupsss getting a bit off-topic...
Anyway fuck it, aint nothing gonna change anyway...

Regardless of whether a CD sells, the agreements made between label and artist should be upheld. If that agreement calls for a cash payment, the label should plan for it in advance. The state of the market is no secret; label owners should know what they are getting into before they commit to making a release. Success in this industry requires an understanding of the present state of psytrance market, a degree of professionalism, good taste, a bit of start-up capital, and some fresh thinking about music distribution in the digital era. Label owners with none of those qualities should not be in this business.
