very simple,
go to your loudest part in your track- then start taking down the THRESHOLD button down until you'll see the ATTEN light start blinking- (however not too much)
that's the very basic- if you need more help- search at waves website, www.waves.com
peace and good luck

In most cases it's best to leave the release setting on 'auto'. Then go to the loudest part in your track and pull down the threshold and try to strike a balance between acquired loudness and loss of dynamic range. Also listen carefully for strange audio artefacts, these will arise when you limit too far below the dynamic range of the kick and the bass. Another thing to listen to is 'pumping' of the reverb-tails. Check

for a concise guide on the subject. |
