So this festival, as well as Ometeotl, seem to be centered around "the vibe" and not so much the line up, which doesn't has a single big act.
It's all about activities, a nice place, nice food, no trash. All things lacking in the "old" scene, now practically dead.
After all these years I think this is a very ncie trend in the mexican scene which was quite stagnant with quite bad organizers (gig, massive trance, ommix).
I would even say that the Kupuri festival has surpassed what once Maia did and even Deliria, at elast when it comes to a "nice vibes" party. Obviously the line ups are from stellar, but music these days isn't as good as 15 years ago anyway.
It's wonderfull to see no trash anywhere, to see people attending workshops (yoga and stuff), harm reduction stands (congrats and thanks to Spolea NGO for this), nice and well priced food, no hostile security and some many nice details.
"The dedication to repetition — the search for nirvana in a single held tone or an endlessly cycling rhythm — is one of electronic music's noblest gestures." |
