The KRK's are much more Accurate and more revealing than the M1's. Also a key improvement of the KRK is that the design of the slotted ports allows for less flutter and distortion. Much tighter bass.
however one thing to note between the 2 is that the M1's have lasted me for over 5 years. Within 6 months of owning the rockits, they have failed once already. Having to replace a whole monitor.

I have my KRK v6 for 3 years - no technical troubles at all... I'd say as good as new.
I'm thinking of getting much more expensive pair of monitors - so maybe these will go to some lucky buyer.
  Crackling universes dive into their own neverending crackle...

my roomate LegoHead has the krk v8 witch u get use 2 like any monitors, but still wish's 4 genelecs. |

I've been using krk's for 4 years, then switched to the 1029's from genelec, but something was always missing in the mixes... now i use dynaudio bm6 and they are unbelievable!!! |

if you are going to get genelecs you must the also get the genelec sub to go with whichever monitors you purchase, the monitors on their own give not a very good bass...best described as wooshy.... |
