You need a pair of normal monitors first before you add a subwoofer.

Orange is joking.
The KRK 10s is a subwoofer which is for basses. The frequency range is 34Hz to 130Hz.
The human ear can normally hear sounds ranging from 20 to 20000 Hz.

hi
you can combine the subwoofer with some of those for example
http://www.thomann.de/de/krk_rp6_rokit_g2.htm
than it will sound more powerfull if you use it for listening to your music using the monitors instead of hifisystem.
for producing youŽll need the monitospeaker which are less powerfull but very clear so you can adjust what youŽre producing to fit to any soundystem that will be used afterwards.
cheers

imo a subwoofer is indicated for dubstep and dnb alike, which have lots of subbass and low freqs.
for psy and trance is more of a balance of bass, mid and highs.. I would advise you to buy new monitors with good bass response. |

im using audioengine a5 and added a subwoofer its definitely worth it for psytrance. There is enough bass content in psy for a sub.
But if your adding a subwoofer in a mastering rig then you definitely need to tune them perfectly otherwise it might sound too bassy and not have that amount of low end on other speakers when you replay the mix.
