i'm going to get kicked for this but i think they're overrated. sure, they are one of the pioneers of (dance orientated) electronic music but so what? if they wouldn't have done it somebody else would (and possibly better). i had to listen to one of their albums repeatedly at work and slowly it brainwashed me into semi-appreciating it. but i think it was because of "the robots" track. the work we did was very robot like and everybody was singing along "we are ze robotz di di ding ding"

This is the first ever official Kraftwerk Live Recording!
Live recordings from the 2004 Worldtour.

~amazon editorial review
The Godfathers of Glitch and the Kings of Kling-Klang come out of seclusion with a double live CD culled from various concerts on their 2004 tour. Minimum-Maximum is essentially a greatest-hits album with an audience applauding and occasionally shouting. Without them, of course, you'd never know the album was live, since Kraftwerk is the band that put the programming in pop music. Not much has changed with them since the 1980s. They're still wired to the same sonic circuitry as on Electric Café in 1986, sculpting glistening electro-soundscapes that pulse but never quite groove. And they still sing in that flat, German-accented English and French with Speak and Spell electro-voices. But rather than sound dated, this has a timeless charm, especially since Kraftwerk are among the few Kraut rock groups with a sense of humor. With only two studio albums in the last 20 years, you have to give them credit for not caving in to current electronica and techno trends--Kraftwerk remain resolutely electronic. Even their samples sound synthesized. But also give them credit for some of the most relentlessly glistening electronic music ever crafted, and a sound that remains surprisingly pure. All the hits are here, from "Autobahn" to "Tour de France," but nicely buffed to a high chrome finish. --John Diliberto           New mixes on

my bad. what kind of music you into? kraftwerk still sounds like 60's/70's when they started, if you are into "modern" electronic music ONLY you are not going to enjoy kraftwerk i think           Bhavatu sabba mangalam

kraftwerk are great and most of these songs are classics, but i don't really see the point in hearing them live. not like they use any live instruments anyway. some of the songs are a little different then the originals but the originals are better plus they don't have reverb and crowd cheering.

BLuorb I guess for someone who wasnt there "when it happened" its hard to fall in love with kraftwerk sound.

Sound and and production wise the world has evolved much since they were the biggest influence on electronic music back in the 80's.

Iwas a huge fan of them and naturally i bought this cd too but its indeed quite lame today and only the classic hits bring back sweet memories like the model, and music non stop for example.

The whole live act is missed out cause thryre show is the real live thing as they dress up like robots and its has a really amazing visual effect but it all fades away in an audio CD.

Anyway i guess youre option to get really excited over this is quite limited im afraid..
