I used the 'search' but got nothing on this so if anybody could help,it would be great.I've been using my virus for a while now with cubase sx and everything runs very smoothly.Just bought a korg prophecy.....when I play the keys on the keyboard I get niiiiccceeeee apreggio patterns etc. but when I trigger it via Cubase via a midi channel ,it doesn't sound very clear ,somewhat distorted and not syncing well with the computer.Anybody had the same problem or know of any settings or parameters ,please help??????

thanks for the reply but it doesn't really answer my question regarding syncing the korg prophecy with cubase whether it's a single or multiple short notes or if it's just one long note that activates the prophecy via cubase's sequencer via midi.It sounds great when directly played on the prophecy's keyboard but as soon as I send midi messages to the prophecy it sounds well dodgy.Any ideas?

In the midi-out track you have going to your korg, in cubase, you can adjust delay...
My way to sync is putting just notes at the same time of kick, set the korg attack to zero, so it plays instantly, and play both kick and korg toguether....now adjust the "delay" parameter in the korg midi track until both are playing on time.
Dunno if this helped or if it was what you wanted

Try changing the midi clock from your synth to external instead of internal, then it woill sync to the tempo from the sequencer. Hope thats the proble

thanks liquid vision for the tip, though i've already tried that aswell......everything works fine and syncs on time but when i send a midi signal from a pattern on the cubase sequencer's track to the korg it goes completely out of sync and distorted. Are there any other settings that you might generally set up for your korg to smoothly sync while triggered by cubase ??

Well I cant really think of anything else, I have a MS2000 and I I dont have any problems when sending MIDI to the synth, the only thing is that I get latency because my computer and my audio interface sucks, so I generally have to move the notes of the pattern a 32th to the left so I can hear it on sync, then when I record it I move back the audio file a 32th to the right, and I dont see why it sounds distorted, I dont think that has anything to do with the MIDI setup, that might be problem with the audio setup.

One thing I can think about as reguards to the distortion is that when you trigger it from Cubase, you are sending a note on with a higher velocity than when you just hit the keyboard. Have you tried lowering the velocity?
As for timing, it could be a MIDI loop. Do you have MIDI through/echo (or whatever) turned off on the Korg and/or in Cubase?

i would have to agree with undertow on this one...it must be velocity issues and if not you might be getting double signlas on your audio card...i had the same problem once....check your routing....the solution is always the dumbest thing you can think about ..
