Hello all,
I just picked up a Korg MS2000BR this weekend (I think I need professional help for my hardware addiction) - I was wondering if anyone would share their experiences with the sounds? Anything this synth does extremely well or have quirks I should know about?
I'll eventually crawl through and figure things out, but thought someone out there might love something particular about this synth. The vocoder on it is pretty neat!
peace,

hi,
i don't own one but i've shared an apartment with someone who did.
very nive VA. very easy to tweak and to creat ambience type tones...
the previous version had an arpegiattor timing problem that got solved but this version is defitely good...
it was the first synth i programmed and came up with very nice results, were at the same time i had a novation nova (more flexible and complex) but couldn't achieve half the same results

ambience tones... like pads or like FX?
Either are welcome - I need to build up my library of 'weird noises'.
Thanks for the comments...

you can do nice leads using all the voices though
and nice acid blik blik sounds to
ambiences and strange atmosferic sounds
but sometimes you will be limited to its voices not to mention multitimbrality...
it has a nice sound a a charachter of its own not so fat as novation etc. but good starter in analog vas
and finnaly its a breeze to tweak very easy..

I think there is a bugfix for that. We have a version A, and it's working perfect.
If you own one with that problem, I think Korg can provide you with a firmware update.
I like the stepsequencer and it's modulating possibilities. You can modulate almost everything with the 3 step-seq's to make freaky stuff.
Ah yes, and once we played distorted guitar trough it's filter. That sounded cool aswell. |
