man there's no need in these machines nowdays if talking about studio work, i can understand such a desire though if you enjoy feeling it in your hands for example
probably my duty is to warn that hardware's interface sucks at software's. as for me that's the main contra for using it. however i still don't give it up using my 505
btw you who go crazy about making ideal drums, do you consider it a too complicated way to make the drum part with a drum machine + effects instead of just some editing what you have on your sample CD ? |

i had ea1 and er1 i sold both of them..
i think nowadays u can use drum samples .. search them online or get from friends..with powerfull sequencer and good sampler.. something like battery if u want to program ur drums.. or u can just drop in loops/samples as audio files and arrange them.
dont waste ur money on it... its fun for a bit but after its boring.

hi. altough i use samples and a software sampler ( NI Battery) for drum-rythm composing-arrangement i wouldt be so negative about these little harware sampler- the es1... i think it is a cool thing to have in your studio/live setup, specially if there are more than 2 people working togueter, makes it way more fun and productive. BUt that is of course ( i shouldnt even mention this) after getting a good soundcard with low latency and dsp, midi controller and studio monitors.
i had one cause and sold it, i needed the cash, i sometimes wish i didnt, mainly because its sampler/fx atrributes, which i could use very much in my live setup...

Hi,
I'd like to know your opnions about the following questions:
* Is the *sound quality* of Electribe comparable to good sample CDs?
* What about rhythm versatility (number and quality of pre-programed rhythms)?
* And patterns variations?
* Electribe offers good options (envelopes, filters and so on) to control and edit sounds?
* Thinking mostly in "dance style", Korg claims that new Electribe models (MkII series) are better than old models (without the "MkII" in the name). Is that true? In comparison with old models (ER1 MkII X old ER1; ES1 MkII X old ES1; etc), is there so much diference? Old models are capable to reproduce the sound of more recent models? Is there any important diference between old and new models?
Thanks a lot!
Alex
