would probably cost double if it was built like tank.. personally i would rather pay more and get good build quality like with moogs stuff.. but it dont mean the synth won t last long..some toys still work 20 years later
i enjoyed the sound of the gforce oddity ,now it s maybe old and not on par with latest plugs but this Arp Odyssey probably gonna sound great to me...

I seriously thought the MS-20 build kit for $1400 was a fuckin joke/troll.
Agreed. Way too much for a kit that is pretty much DIY with training wheels.
There is no soldering involved so wouldn't really put it in DIY category. They had to do it that way to deal with shipping size is my guess.
As for the price, but after owning an MS-20 mini for a good part of this year, can say that someone who understands the synth and wants to have it on stage as an instrument, will be willing to pay that much for it.
For new users though highly recommend the MS-20 mini, not much difference between the two apart from the build materials and size.

get oddity if you like this... easy... ms 20 is cooler then this, by a long run, shame the bigger easy as pie assemble yourself 'cause we're to busy kit is a bit pricey, no? love those filters to bits though, no plug-in emulation of it has even come close to the real thing. and I don't even think the real thing has a very good filter, tech wise, but it sounds gorgeous and nothing sounds quite like it... ranks up there along with the SH 101 and Teebee on my book.

Yeah my local synth shop demo'd it next to a mint original for me. Pretty close. Depends if you're ok with the smaller keys. I've got big fingers (just how my wife likes them) and didn't bother me.
Didn't get one because it seems to be more a house/funk/groovy type synth than something wanting to be pushed hard & penetrate the psyche deeply.
Seeing as I'm going through a big gabber production phase the last 4 months it doesn't grab me at all.

More demos I hear of this synth the more desirable it gets. Headhunters is also one of my favourite LPs of all time so partiality to the sound there when others might find the funk sound restrictive.
