Hello there!

Just had some spare time this weekend (finally!) and I wanted to share a little tune with you. I didn't put much effor on the mix, and there still is a lot of brushing and post-editing to do, but check it out:

Hey,

Ok, so I listened to your tune and I have a few comments:

Very long intro but interesting feel. Sort off soul/jazzy yeah? Not sure it really fits in a psytrance tune, but interesting nonetheless.

The lead at around 3 mins is not powerful enough to kick the listener in his backside and onto the dance floor. Needs a lot of punch after the slow intro and the (good) buildup.

The lead at around 4:30 is much better. And also at 4:57.

The bridge at 5:30, again, not sure what to make of it. To be honest, I don't think it works with the rest of the track (apart from the intro, of course). The bridge and the intro are not of the same genre as the rest of the track and I'm having a bit of a problem with reconciling these very different styles in one track. I know bridges should be "different" but this is too much, I think.

The last part where the rhythm changes to a triplet format: hmmm, where did that come from...?

Overall, I think there are too many disparate elements in the song to give it a sense of cohesion.

Just my opinion, dude.

Cheers

Hey Andre!

Thanks for the comment, I'm glad you find the intro interesting. It's not a "conventional" intro, but I love the groove it brings to the track.

I slightly changed the synth line that plays around 3 minutes, basically I layered it with another synth playing the same thing.

I also worked a bit more on the mix, making the sections glue better together. The break at 5:30 sounds more tight and in the music, but yes it's a completely different point of view at the elements of the track. I like the ambient it creates, and if you really groove into it, I think it puts a smile on peoples faces. It also introduces the bassline for the remaining track.

The last section with the triplet, well, I just felt like doing that. While making the previous section, I was playing with an arpegiator and I set the rate at 1/12, achieving that triplet sound and it sounded great, so I built in that last section in 3/4. The track changes the ambient throughout time and I thought the 3/4 to be a great way to and this story, as it naturally "slows" down the track (towards the finish). It 's not as easy to select a track to play after it, but when well chosen it sounds great

Just a reminder, the track has a lot of polishing to do (and done), but Soundcloud won't let me edit the audio file fora track to update it (i need a premium account..)

I like the way it sounds different and unusual, but that's what psytrance is all about: doing you're own thing. I'm not aiming for the mainstream here, just playing what I like and what makes me smile , doing the best I can.

I really appreciate you're opinion man! Thanks
