Kino Oko - 3rd new album: Colors Hate Themselves
http://www.tribalvision.cz

1.) Dorothy Last Day of Life
2.) Beige Genocide
3.) Lovely Serenade
4.) Rosalinda
5.) Nocturn for Bright Daylight
6.) Skylight Extravaganza
7.) The Ground
8.) Rapture of the Skeleton
9.) Puppet Lemonade
10.) Believe Nothing
11.) The Day of Pearly Spencer

Long time awaited 3rd album....wait the minute...2008, 2009, 2010... aah what a hell, for me was a long time when i talk about Kino Oko's music. I am hungry of his vibes non stop. Maybe for someone this might sound like cliche but I know how I feel for real and according to that will try that to describe with this review.
After second album I asked my self: "Could it be better?". After listening the new album answer imposed itself. Big YES!
Of course, we all know his style but never know his arrangement in new tracks. As much as someone seemed predictable, Kino Oko is not really predictable with new music. New album comes with new ideas and once again just a step closer to good way of comercial style but deliberately retained in the shadow of underground. No matter of that he is born for big stage if you ask me. Always image this sound on huge events and find my self floating around in my mind with open-armed. I guess that the sound of synthesizer makes me to such behavior.
That kind of sound make his this music widespread and extensive. Its a really good enough for me. I will never forget moment when I heard "Man Upon The Rainbow" and came to knowlege that I found in the style something I've always hoped to hear in underground music. Excellent combination of not usual beats and huge comercial melodies that will make me dance non stop. After firts album i felt the same with whole second album CD but mostly at "Messiah Formula". One of the biggest reason why I expected this new album so much. To find one more top track. As an good old movie you want to happen again in a new format. Actually, to the good old feeling comes upon. Again and again. And it comes with "Skylight Extravaganza". Again whole night with big DJ headphones on my earz and track on repeat. I am at Creamfileds or Kazantip, danicing like crazy on huge sound system on this tune. Grzegorz, again, made me to want him hear live! Hope that this will come in true.
During the listening of this album lot of tracks reminds me on style of great electronic names like Krafwerk, Tangerine Dreams and lot of old school music elements which are now almost forgotten. The way it combines with the new beat is really impressive for my term. Excellent concept in every way. Not much to say about this creation except that all those to whom it has reached a new achievement, are on the big profit of delights.
Press play all over again!

i think this album needs a detail n in depth review to analyse their recent fluctuation in styles.they r without doubt pioneer in their own style......but....last few releases were way too commercial for my ears.more house-tek-clubbish with absolute no psychedelia wat so ever.

jus got the file today and having a listen...sounds promising enuf. . . . . hope they go bak to their root style.

I'm surprised there isn't more about this here. I don't have time for a proper review, but will put a few words.

As always with our beloved Polish gang, there's nothing boring here, and it's all very hard to categorize.

There's a strong 80s feel, and even at times the poppish kind of 80s. Not really the good and yet it comes out charming (Puppet Lemonade).

Favorites are the opener (which reminds me a bit of Guy Gerber's Late Bloomers in vibe), the AMAZING emotional epic Rosalinda, the very dark 80s feel of The Ground with the bad but irresistible vocals (so 80s), and the final version to The Days of Pearly Spencer. I only miss the credit to David McWilliams on the cover.

So here's a credit from me:

All and all, I'm not sure yet of my bottom line about this album. I listened to it only about 6 times. But it sure leaves me with a taste for more and I urge all to check it out.

As usual with Tribal Vision, the cover and overall production is a joy.

Another surpriser by Kino Oko. As with previous releases, it takes a while to really get into the vibe and flow. But when it catches you, you are hooked. Fresh, innovative, border melting, melodic, groovy soundz that you cant predict whats coming next, as we have gotten used to from Kino Oko. A lot of old skool energy going around in this album, an emotional roller coaster for sure. Delicate soundz of psychedelia.

A lot of people wont get what the fuss is bout but this is definitely one of the top releases of the year for I. To anyone simply bored with the current static electronic music of the day, give this a try. An awesome flow in the album with no bad tracks which are very complimentary to the whole vibe of the album. Big up!

Kino Oko once again!!

With so many music coming out these days, it is rare to stick to one album. But in the sea of repetitive sounds and familiar basslines, Kino Oko stands out.

Unique & fresh sound always with a pinch of psychedelic.

Alphabetically Divided Highway was brilliant. This is a Masterpiece!!
