I see things the exact opposite way from what you just described.

I like your sounds.I know your side and I very respect your imagination. No doubt bout it for me.
I just cant stand progressiveness and endless electro in hamburg city.
I havent seen a real psycedelic party for years here
its like over but i cannot accept it still.
I like many beats temp avarage 150 it makes me forget anything and when good setting its an ocasion to fly into another dimension.
I love old goa and psytrance which is not under 135 ... you know I know your likings with 146 the most.Me is when a tune is 130 bpm ,maybe a good techtribal stuff than I like to pitch it at least to 135 bpm.I believe trance has sth to do with rythmic/tempo and loosing through sonic patterns.
and again I really enjoy your disco hooligans music, anyhows peace. |

Thanks for taking the time to check our tunes out and I am glad you like them
I also don't like psychedelic trance music to sound too progressive, or like a lot of electro sounds in a trance tune, cause the music stops sounding like music made for the forests and beaches and starts sounding like electro club-land music for ibiza megaclubs (at best).
I don't like music past 145 (well more like 148 since I really like Dado's and Bamboo Forest's "Le Chat De L'esapce" which was 148 BPM) cause its just sounding too crammed. There is no space to enjoy between the sounds adn most tunes that are over 148 are them dark trance tunes that have sounds and create vibes that I do not like at all.
I love distorted, dissonant, harsh, dark sounds that make you feel like you double dropped el cid, when all you've done was smoke a couple of Js, but the style of the tunes that are over 148. I can not relate to, neither do I want to.
I do agree that music has to do something with rythmic, a strong groove makes you dance like no one's watching and all that, yet there is no groove in them fast dark trance tunes that have that one note 16th bassline.
Its all a matter of taste, for example Time Traveller's taste is very different than mine, but there's noting wrong with that, on the contrary that is the whole beauty of it.
Peace out.

Groove isn't always just in the bassline. Drums have been used to create groove for a very long time. I can appreciate most tunes, but I am definitely partial to music that makes my mind travel as well as my ass. I'm a big fan of making tunes that don't really reflect the speed that they were written at. I've made tunes at 142 that feel like they're 150+ as well as tunes higher that 150 that feel much much slower, so it's really a matter of how many elements you put in your groove.

Very well said. Like pipe&slippers i can't really relate to much of the faster psy, but it does depend entirely on how the different elements of the song work together that create the final racing forward/ progressive sound.
On topic:
I started going to psy parties when i was 16 (am 19 next week), and i didn't ever really see that as a problem, but then again i think i am/ was very different to people of a similar age. I've always been into spirituality from a pretty early age and always hung out with an older crowd, and whilst a lot of my friends go to parties to get mashed, i do a lot of them fairly sober and am quite into the whole 'spiritual dance' etc, plus i just have an undying love for twisted noises and particularly psytrance. But i can understand why the younger crowd is frowned upon a lot of the time.
