Drugs were abundant in the mid '90s mate. Free outdoor parties with no sight of a policeman and fire brigade people smoking spliffs with us....remember Varimpopi in the 1994-1996 era?

There is no psychedelic academy for spiritual leaders to guide the young ones though. A lot of people just talk bollocks and simply give some really bad advice...this whole thing is very personal, for me figuring it all out on your own, is the way to go.

totally. having a good teacher is very helpful and useful. i'm not arguing that point at all. all i'm saying is that, first of all, it is not ESSENTIAL, and second of all, it still depends a lot on how you, the "student," approaches it. i just have a big problem with people being passive and just waiting for somebody else to explain this for them, do that for them. and they always want it easy and they always want it fast because they want it now. give me.
look at the first page of the production forum for an example of such people.
THAT's what i have a problem with.
also, can you tell me some things you've personally done to "educate the newbz?" |

I remember Varimpopi in the 1994-1996 area and it was too difficult to know exactly where and when was the party.
I remember searching the whole mountains to find the party and sometimes it was a false info and there wasn't any party...
I also remember that it was very risky to ask someone you didn't know about buying a drug although there were plenty but everyone was looking at you very nastily if you asked something like that without knowing him.
I saw many times beatings for such a reason.
It was something like insulting the other something like accusing him for a drug dealer...
Very risky because of other reasons than police matters.

and how it should be. why would you want to buy anything from somebody you don't know anyway? that's the most irresponsible thing you can do. |

Actually, we were very well educated through the music, album/track titles, names of Artist/labels and so on... not too much education need on the dance floor.. it was up to us to research the material on our own, i agree with that.. Some absorbed more than others, that's a fact.. Just because a title suggest an enlighten Ape, doesn't mean the ape knows all. It creates thought, which allows for spiritual growth..
Some today teach as well, the Kindergarten is our future.. help them or not, your choice.. Our teachers then were to busy getting high to help point that out to us.. We can change our future, its not to late.
The biggest disappointment for me was some of the ones who influenced the education, didn't learn.

I know what you mean. Bringing your own is the best way to go, innit. And yes, asking random people for drugs is not the smartest thing to do, but in no case does someone deserve a beating for it, neither I thought people got beat up simply for asking for drugs politely...
Anyhow, back on topic.

i am not abusing anybody's patience man .
patience is a virtue.so you got to be patient to wait for those kids to grow up.,and then someone will come here, undigg this thread and says that "oh all those kids in the parties are annoying me"...
anyway,as i said, ten years ago it was a whole different situation.consider money, consider parents, consider morality ,consider "parties availability",considesr that back then 2 out of 10 knew about psytrance, while now i suppose this percentage is about 7 of ten.it is unavoidable to have smaller ages in the parties.

I don't speak that language and it does border breaking the guidelines.. I feel you are talking or suggesting thoughts from the Roman Empire... Kindergarten means education, so tell me what you mean, please..
I foresee Pipes coming in with something to help educate us about Wikipedia

no disrespect meant. it was just a joke. 'O tempora, o mores' is attributed to Cicero and it means "Oh the times! Oh the customs!"
i don't speak the language either.

and another thing. right here is a nice little example of what we are talking about. i didn't know what that phrase meant. but i was curious. it took me all of 5 seconds to go look it up. p&s was curious too. he didn't wait for anybody to translate. he didn't complain. he went and looked it up. you asked me to tell you what it meant, while sitting in front of a computer.
this demonstrates the difference in approach that different people have and i think if you abstract this out, this can give another insight into our discussion. |
