kaspersky is very good also zone alarm security suite which sucks dry the resources on the pc
for now the safest and free combination on my window$ OS is comodo firewall and AVG antivirus

Been using AVAST since a long time now (3 years+), never had any problem and recommended it to many people always having good feedback on it.
Avast is an all-in-one solution and does not eat your resources.

guys I have a problem, I download a virus (and expulse it with the kaspersky prog), but an icon of some kind of shield still apears in my tool bar and I cannot delete it; can you guys help me please?

Anti-Virus program is all bullshit !!! I was a heavy user of antivirus programs. Used to check every new one that came out, update VPN files, used VMachines for tests...
Untill I came to scences.
I haven't used an antivirus, antispy, firewall and any other defence program for 3 years now.
No viruses, No problems, No NOTHING !
My advices to you -
1. be careful.
2. Know what you use.
3. use Virtual machines or secondary log-on.

use Linux or Mac no viruses for them...

Surely no problem when using my linux Slackware, or even running Windows with no antivirus in my own computer. But if you're going to share a computer running Windows with other users or try to explore unknown places on net (like porn sites) you'll definitely need a good protection.
