I really understand Colin´s opinion, and I share most of them(specially trying and failling to spend less time on foruns )!
But I´m on a good mood, so I will try to get the question to be answered. I´m not with my DAW here, so I will post a "tutorial" from what I can remember...
I will use Kontakt for making this.
1)Load your kick sample at Kontakt.
2)Make the roll.
3)De-activate the "tuned mode"(so u can use any midi note to trigger the sample at original key).
4)Right-click at "Tune" knob inside the instrument(not the main one). And choose "midi cc".
5)A "mod" box will appear with two lines. Choose the cc number u want, for example #2.
6)Just draw the automation for cc #2, at the right midi channel.
7)If u want more bend, just add one more "midi cc" to the tune knob.
I think that´s it! Hope it helped, and hope u will not charge any money for this super master secret from SMS....

Hi,
I guess some clarification on part is required also to put this lot to rest.
Colin - I dont understand where you see fingers being pointed at you, there was a mistake and he appologised for it. You have every right to your opinion.
Its very apparent (to me at least) that you do help people out on this forum (and some others i have seen you on) so finger pointing that has gone on is plainly incorrect.
The only thing that annoyed me was the fact that you brought my teaching into it, as if i didnt know what i was talking about because i had never used either of these specific methods in my productions.
My course is completely mapped out by Steinberg (with me making adjustments etc for each students particular requirements) and as such i follow their guidelines which doesnt include sampling.
The dance music production lessons i offer SHOULD offer sampling but doesn`t (apart from battery for drums which no longer fills my needs - i focus primarily on synthesis, bassline creation, patterns, movement, kick drum creation, tuning, arrangement, sfx creation, placement, atmospherics, audio editing, manipulation - all with no sampler) i have only ever used battery in my own productions which is now changing, hence the seeking of knowledge regarding Kontakt which i have recently bought along with the Kontakt tutorial video to learn this beast to use in MY OWN PRODUCTION ONLY- i would never use anyone elses tutorials to make money and if i did want to do so for some reason i would most certainly contact that person first and ask their permission to do so and also offer some kind of compensation. If you find it odd that i dont use samplers in my dance music production course then its not as odd as the fact that i done a degree in Music Production and was taught to use an Akai s3200 in the first semester once a week for 4 weeks AND THAT WAS IT ! so i learned to do without them.
I dont believe and never have done in this poison which i call the "super secret society" where producers/artists alike like to keep their so called production secrets to themselves for fear of others using them and perhaps taking money out of their pockets, as you rightly mention you could have 2 people creating music using exactly the same techniques but their music will be completely different, it will have their individuality and soul in it.
This is something i have never adhered to and is plain to see in the tutorials i create and put online for free.
As for being a n00b trying to get others to do my coursework for me so i can charge for it, well i will simply let my students and the people i help every day make their own minds up on that.
I appreciate your comments Colin as i do everyone elses, the beauty of forums is that everyone can share their knowledge or not its a choice, the bad things about forums is that its a written word, its easy to misunderstand people or be misunderstood, but i guess thats life for anyone in any given situation.
SMS - thanks for your efforts, i will test them out and see how it works, and i promise NOT to make a video tutorial from this then sell it to the unsuspecting psy trance community and make my fortune
PSYLEVATION - Thanks for taking the time to put the video together, i will give some feedback after i have watched it.
thanks for listening and i hope to learn more regarding Kontakt from you lot in the future although the more i watch the tutorial video the more sense its starting to make, found it very confusing at first but with these and the tutorial dvd i am getting there.
all the best,
Mark

Psylevation - I have to say, excellent tutorial many thanks
This is what i was talking about, its the subtle things that matters.
The addition of the extra pitch modulation parameters is the key and turning them up for maximum octave range is excellent - now i know.
I also didnt think to draw in a complete solid bar to take advantage of the kick looping, makes perfect sense now
again excellent tutorial andnow i need to think of something else for you to make your next one looool.
Again many thanks for your efforts
Mark

You're welcome. I bought this tutorial making software a while back and never used it. This is what I planned to do with it anyway.
I tried to be complete and give reasoning behind each thing I did to help understand why each thing is done; I'm glad it helped.
Cheers

yeah it helped a lot with Kontakt for sure.
I understand how to do this using other tools but i am trying to slimline my setup and decided that my sampler of choice ,would be Kontakt as it seems to be the daddy of the sampler world, so many thanks again.

Sometimes I think about people making music before World Wide Web explosion as a fucking genius!
How they're can make a kick rolls or all track at all, without step by step tutorials? Amazing!
And yea, i'm just kidding because I'm one of thats who learn everything by myself (just experiments).
And I can't understand where is the fun from making music when all Your job is just copying everything from tutorials.
Ready midi files (i seen bassline midi files - oh my god!!), ready samples, presets... just copying and pasting copying and pasting.
Where there (in that music) is soul of artist?
Where's passion? Is experiments hurts?

I love sitting around for hours just making sounds instead of asking how to do it,learn syntesis |

I learned most everything before I found any good resources online. It was quite a long road. The only thing is I don't want others road to be so long and so hard. Just because mine was. I hope that I can help others and speed their learning up so that they can become a 'professional' quality producer in time. Every person is going to develop their own techniques with time and experimentation. I must say I do disagree with copy and paste if that is all an artist is doing. However, I think of things like step by step tutorials as stepping stones towards them creating their own better techniques that surpass what currently exists.
Edit: to give you an example it took my friend a very long time to make a psy bass. I even sent him a tau pro preset and he still couldnt make it work out. So just because theres a tutorial there, its not going to make the music sing for them

From my experience, having to learn everything on my own was the best thing to do. Yes it was not easy at first, starting off as a complete n00b, but grabbing the bull by the horns was a nice character building experience and once you learn everything on your own, you develop a lot faster later on, as when you are "troubleshooting" you mixes and doing your own re-search, you pick on many other things on the way that will help you to progress further, than just looking at an on-line tutorial that will specificaly deal with one small aspect of production.
Not saying tutorials are not a good thing, I am only speaking for my self when I say that learning things on your own, is the best way to go. At the end of the day you develop a much more personal sound.
