that really annoy me you guys are saying fafilter sound great.. that really show the problem of production in general.
it s good enought to get the job done but our what sound good and great don t sound that good but we have no clue about it having no access to better stuff.

i got your point.u wanna do some sweeps like crazy astronaut right?try izotope stutter edit. its has really cool tools to make filters sweeps, stutter sweeps etc. and its really easy.

I use Sonalksis TBK filter, can hear it on this track im working on in the intro (low pass kick and bass opening up )

Korg MS-20 (the software).
Soundtoys.
But most often Logic's Channel EQ as it gets the job done with no fuss.
