Hello everybody!
This time I found to have problems with my kick and snare or clap when they hit together.
I'm sure the problem is with the note of the snare.
Does anyone know something like a rule for what note should I use for my claps and snares to fit the kick drum?
For example this kick snare combo is awesome and pure to my ears.

the snare.. first key thing is to choose a good one that fits..... eq,compress and limit (not to much squashing) if necessary...
the body of the snare is around 180-250 well it depends, the crack could be 2k-5k to boost or cut, either way if it needs body/crack give it a boost around there....
neve eq,pultec or SSL eq shelving emulators are perfect for the overall shape such as URS N series, stilwel 1973 etc
then i would usually thro sonnox dynamics over it giving it compression then further eq, Upward expansion and gating if it needs or experimenting.....
the other thing you can do is layer a few good sounding snares ontop of eachother eq and use the decay in your sampler to make them fit,,,, compress them all with a medium attack and quick release.... move the dial till you hit and bite the sweet slap spots...
there are many many ways to experiment with, such as bitcrushing and ring mods over them etc etc.... but that i guess is heading out toward the unnatural zone
btw u shouldnt really need to be messing with the pitch/note of it... waste your time finding a good one that fits and/or do the above
hope this helps , theres my 2cents....

I like to use 2 samples on snare. One with less punch and put it slight before the kick out of the grid. Second on classic place on every second kick. It depends also on eq but sometimes is enough to set right volume levels.
And another trick that I like is use reverb on Snare/Clap and Gate after it. With good settings its create very impressive Kick-Snare Combo.

its also worth mentioning choosing a compressor with the Wet/dry mix control (Parallel).... because then your able to increase the ratio and punch that fuck whilst maintaining original signal....

using wet/dry is like full wet and lowering the ratio on many compressor, it s not when the compression curve differ depending how much gain reduction it i think ,dont remember the whole story ... not saying it s not usefull specally on compressor that dont have much ratio choice but parallel compression sound just like lowering ratio on many ocassion ..
can be usefull info when you use a compressor that dont have wet/dry and you want similar result , not saying it s not a great setting to have on any compressors .help to have more control

ye wotyever works at the end of the day..i personally just use simple for thwack
i see what your saying.. but infinte ratio and using it like the FET comp softubes is a good one for high driven parallel example

to me sounds like a smooth synthesized snare. with white noise.
probably layered with a subtle clap sample.
or you can choose the right samples. eq them and mix them right.
