in this case phase of kick has a importance too...
for example, if we use bass root key c2 we should use 65 hz boosted kick (65 hz ~ 15 ms) it means that 65hz wave of kick must be started at.. 15,30,45 or 60 ms...
smth about..

Ehhh... at the start of itself and at the start of a bar ?

It's possible to tune the kick to the track tempo, and the bass to the kick etc etc... but to me this seems to be more an academic exercise than a creative one. The people i've met who have achieved a great sound tend to use a balance between theory and using their ears to find out what works.

Right, but I still haven't seen a real Cubase solution to this on the forum. From what I understand, the side-chaining method is not available in Cubase. If you just send the bass and kick to a group and compress that, then it would work on the sum of the kick and the bass waves, which is not the same as compressing only the bass at the instant the kick hits. Or did I miss something here?

You mean you cannot sidechain kick and bass via an aux channel in Cubase?           Upavas - Here And Now (Sangoma Rec.) new EP out Oct.29th, get it here:

tc native works in cubase. otium works in a quadro group in cubase...
side-chaining has ben made native in c4.
i never do it anyway, unless the bass overlaps or if bass on kick.

Hey Upavas,

Just make a Group or FX channel with a Quadro out instead of stereo.
Then bring up your VST connections (I think) and make child buses for the channel.
I use Fabfilter Pro-C and route Bass and Kick to appropriate buses.
Hope this helps,
Vic
