Hello guys & gals,

Do you consider yourself as a Kick fan OR a Bass fan ?

Do you spend more time on improving your Kicks in a track or is it the Bass that takes most of your attention ?

(And please - don't give that "I-do-them-both-perfect" answer...)
(I am only interested if you choose 1 side...)

Bass           Monitoring devices, know where you go
Mass media, total control
Digital delight, desire in megabite
Data overflow, virtual suicide
This information, is disinformation

hehe not easy one but id have to say time wise it will be bass..
same kicks (bout 20 of them) out of the collection out there (that published here for free download from several users) is probably all that i need for trance.. but bass is new story evry time even if i start from preset..

hmmm beside its not fair question cause the result is kick bass combo not matter on wich u spend more time they are effected one from each other deeply specialy filters and eq and root note as well

i will share exprience that will show what i meen..

i was going to a friend one time and he played me his new track
when the kick came in i was shocked how fat it was
then he solo the kick and all u hear is the click like punch your nail against the table lol
it was all coming from the bass , that was playing full 16th line , only that you couldnt tell since this click was always playing with bass..
this was great lesson for me about frequency manipulation as well the relation of kick and bass in the sense of mixing process
the combo was good , but the k(l)ick when solo was not even more then tiny percussion

Kick, i just love those hard knocken kicks, then bass line to give it the roll... but thats my opinion and way of working
perhaps cause i also produce downsouth rap beats, and the kick serves as the bassline in this genre so with time i just tended to concentrate more on the kick. seems like a reasonable explaination of why i work with the kick the most not saying i ignore the bass because i eventually gotta match em just right but to start kick rules end of story...

Well for instance... I can't see there being any productive result out of people saying whether or not they work on bass more or kick... What are you getting out of this question? How will you apply the information gathered from asking this question in your music writing?

I think its just an irrelevant question just like so many in this section of the forum.
