I always load my kick drums in a sampler. It gives me much more flexibility while writing a track.

hardware sampler anyone? lolol... no i tryed once but didn't make sense...

usually a simple audio track, no need for a vst hogging cpu

in fact, not that i do it, but seems resonable to resample (or bounce) the kick if you're doing any processing in it... and use the reprocessed sample JUST TO SAVE CPU on vst efects and or filter

I use sampler (exs-24)...easy to replace kik, more flexibility (adding rolls & stuff)...enough reasons for me to use sampler !!!

I use Battery 2 to trigger all my drum samples... Just send it to its own output channel, of course. I find it very strange/interesting that someone would use an audio track.... ?

When you work on ableton live is very easy with a audio track, check this software one time.

Of course when you whant make special fx or something in the sampler is better for change the set up.

i use all my kicks and percussive sounds as audio....that way you can twist and mess with them in any way you'd like.

I use fl studio and i always devote a sampler track for KIx....i've been using EYB's kicksynth a lot lately though
(proper eq on those synth kix does miracles) so battery is left only for other samples ...mainly reversed stuff..            Peace, Love, Death metal

YES ...

i always use a sampler for all sample based work ofcourse including the kik drum ....

audio is another method ppl have developed , so u just need to see which one suits u the most ... quality wise both methods will give same sound ...

Exactly.. heh.

MARGHERITA, I'm familiar with Live. I,personally, would still use a Sampler inside that though... I don't like Live anyways.

I agree!
use samplers now and then, but feels more flexible, immediate and controllable with audio .

i use audio 4 everything!
whatever u do u bounce,SAVES CPU,and if u don't like it there is always the Offline Process history to go back,IN EVERY SINGLE SAMPLE..4 those u don't know!!!u can go back to a sample situation until the initial version...use sampler eeh?
how will u make a let's say reversed roll 1 bar with pitching up the kick to create special fx.....
What about the next loop?
Do u want to make the same breaks all the time?
The word variation says anything to you?
I want to make a break with snare played -5 pitch but only for the specific point of the track.....try it on audio ..try it on sampler!!!
EG I think u don't want to change to kick..u just need to make it how u like from the first place!
The only thing i use midi is the bass..because i like to change the sequenses, but i use vst bass to have the final sound heard...so
IT IS REALLY UP TO WHAT U WANT TO DO IN YOUR MUSIC!!!

NO

replace in the audio folder to the kick u want and rename it to the kick u used.. lame but works, and i find it sound better in audio track.
