Hi! I was having some problems with my Kick+Bass and made a thread about it called "Calling All Pro's" (further down the page). Although my K+B isn't quite perfect, I have learnt a lot from this forum.

Here are a few ESSENTIAL tips for K+B:

- Shorten Midi notes until release from last note is not bleeding in to start of next note. Sounds muddy + phased until note lengths are really short. diff synths have diff note lengths. It took me ages to actually implement this tip into my projects. Boy did it make a difference.

- Bounce kick and resize so kick is 1/16th in length. You can then use a bell EQ on the root note to boost the sub-bass if the kick sounds weak after resizing.

- **EQ all the muck out of the bassline and then raise the volume to compensate for the loss of bass. This tip should give you that distinctive *high tech* vibe. Taking deep bell cuts out of my bass gives it a very light feel comparable to cosmo above.

Hope these tips help!!

It's funny that I came to these exact same realizations, in that order, a few days ago when I experimented with note lengths for the first time. IT's definitely key to get a kick & bass running together.
