I've noticed a lot of psy producers are doing this kick/bass tempo change thing, i don't really know how to describe it so there's two examples below. Is there a term for this kind of break down and how would you go about it?

Triplets.
After the break the bass plays a galloping (K-BBK) pattern in triplets.
Just write a K-BBK pattern and change the quantize to 1/16 Triplet and play around with the swing until it sounds nice.
