kick and bassline playing at the same time

i m listening some tracks right now(i think it s old gms from 2000/2002 )where the kick was played as the same time as the bassline and to me it s sound a lot more dancefloor and groovy ,what do you think about that?why now most of the tracks have boring bassline?(i think removing that bassline note is one of the reason ) |

In electro i do it all the time 
Just have to find a combination of bass and kick where it works
For fullon its kindof useless in my opinion
