How many octaves do you want?
You sure need knobs with it, its more comfortable.
How much money do you want to spend?

The best plan is to find out about as many keyboards as possible and make a list of possibles....
then ask yourself what you need and want from a keyboard..,,
make a list of features
then see which ones have what you want , then....go and try the ones which you have narrowed down to on your list of possibles....
once you have tried it out and seen it in action , then you will be ready to decide by yourselff...... |

buy a real synth, and use it as masterkeyboard...
i have this Korg ms2000 and it fits almost every synths cc numbers.. vst`s that it..
i think thatmidicontrollers are quite boring  /mr antithesis....
