I think it is a natural developement of all great arts nowadays, ideas to become marketable goods. It part of the system we live in, we live by and we live for. One person creates, innovates and then the idea is capitalized and massified. There is nothing wrong with that. But, as a common denominator is stablished to reach greater numbers of ppl, there is clear mechanization and standarization of the product, in this case music. Suddenly, music is not unique and reflective on ones expressive vision, but a template for economic growth.
Personally, I love to catch music when it is created from personal inspiration and without any sense self gratification, just because it is reflective of the personal and spiritual communication coming straight from artist's perception of the world we live in. Once the artists become tools for sales and slave themselves to expectations and money, then they do not communicate anymore, but create music "projects" subjected to all capitalist parameters. So it is not a matter to communicate his/her inner feelings, perceptions, taste... but create a much more effective machine for profit. The role changes.
As I said it is natural for this to happen and I do not hate it or try to destroy it, but I will not support it either. For me, once the music becomes part of the money making machine it looses its essence and sounds hollow, without creative substance. It becomes mechanized and de-humanized.
So I personally support the underground, and put effort and time to support the originality from the innovators within psy trance. Because without innovation and originality, art is destined to die since it will be trapped within the set of rules and pre-conditioned ideas of the mechanized system it thrives. |

Brain,
We all have our differences. I do not think insulting other's work will get anything resolved. I do think there are other places... Like here in FL... they are much more underdeveloped in psy trance scene. I give it to the guys in LA to be able to have steady parties, whatever the content. I am glad that anywhere in the US there is ppl with the initiative to build this visionary understanding of our existence  As I said before don't destroy what is created already, just make your own choices on what to support and what to build.
I went to a IM party not for IM themselves, but for all the friends I have in this scene. I much prefer to go the extra mile to SF for an insane party or to build what I believe than to support something I can't relate to anymore. Some ppl disagree with me, but I have a clear vision of what I want.
The trick is to stay positive, unite and send positive vibes to all around. I have not always been this way and many times I have ranted away. Now I just think I have the power to make changes for what I believe without creating all this atmosphere of negativity. It turns out useless to create all this hate as oppose to build something special together.

I love Don as well, he played a large roll in getting WB started and was the backbone for the A.U.M. chill stage...
Dubstep isn't my claim and your lizzard even has a few funny jokes about it however, as long as we don't loose our focus over it, then whatever.. Tree thuggish thugs are cool but sometimes a bit to cocky for me but what am i worried about? My dance rocks some shit they can't even keep up with
