nice vibe you got there.
i find the snare is too loud in volume and sometimes the mix seems a bit harsh. try to make the sound a bit more homogenic.
good and deep music!           http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/stereofeld-frequenzwechsel

the percussion is generally harsh? the high hat, the crash all have a sound to them as if they are hyped with saturation/distortion or something?
could be you have some sort of finalizer on the master as well that overhypes the whole track? whats your listenig environment?

music is ace really           http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/stereofeld-frequenzwechsel

thanks a lot guys for taking the time and sweet comments !

about my listening environment ,i have a nice little studio ,but not treated the acoustic yet nor got proper monitors .my next step in a couple of months .
i mix a lot on my headphones .
on this version , i ve tried to make a mastering (of some sort) myself ,with a 3 band dynamic processor from live and l1 ultrmaximizer ,and yess i ve hyped the highs and the lows .
i didn t put it on the master tho ,i ve exported my mix then reload it and put the mastering fx on the track .
i m gonna upload the raw mix , you ll be able to tell me about it .

thanks a lot for your feedback ,

cheers

the problem is with mastering in the same place as mixing: you will always mix according to your systems flaws.. be it headphones that are usually soft sounding so you end up with too bright mixes or bad treated rooms where you mix according to your rooms modes in the subs and so on.. thats why normally music should be mastered on a different and well treated system to correct your mistakes..

when doing "masterings" (i know what i am talking about, lol) it fucks over the mix more then it helps. usually you listend to the track so long you overdo it and squash and hype the shit out of it. but i still try, nothing wrong with that, just something to learn in addition..

would be cool to hear the mix without master plugins to see how your plain mix sounds like, i bet its much better           http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/stereofeld-frequenzwechsel

Change the snare. Or lower the volume and make it a bit shorter.
The rest of the sounds could use a bit more reverb I think. Or at least some sounds with bigger reverbs. That will give it some more space and finished sound.

I'd also recommend to put all these ideas in a 7-9 minute track. Not 12 minutes.

Good luck!           soundcloud.com/supergroover
