just think with 303 and 909 a desk, tools to eq and compress all this, fxs a sampler atari.. you tweak the gear and get so much fun with that killer groove you just made with the 909 and 303...when people will listen the track they will feel all the fun you had making it , even it s fucking simple it may be a dancefloor bomb cause the track is so fucking intelligent you were so much in trance having fun and a great time making it .i think that what is a bit lacking today .it dont sound like the producers are having a blast when producing the tune and it directly translate to the music, it s so technic now and the tools are not really fun to use or it could be just me maybe dunno..i think it s a other reason why the tools contribued to all the great music from that time.
a track like this you can feel the fun they had making it imo it was probably striking the floors all the time ,but i guess it was nothing special back then to get ppl in deep trance

these day we are not having fun making the tunes have a great soul , we are tweaking the kick eq debating if it will translate better with a 0.5 or 1 db boost at 3k,the production is better but the music it might depends taste i like old stuff better for psytrance
There is only so much you can do in psytrance which imho have quite a vast selection of disabilities for promoting a healthy musical evolution. I still see people asking where to get the vb1. this however has nothing to do with the topic. Back in the land of the fat (which is the original title for the album) we have to remember everyone bought cd's. Our local shop actually opened 00.01 in the night to sell the album and boy were there full of people! Good times!

hey man I just started finding a use for VB-1 recently Now you've made me feel bad.
No actually what made me feel bad; being a bass guitar player for years, and only now using teh thing
But what if one's goal isnt evoltion but doing it teh tried and true way, to teh best of ones ability?
I just mean, is evolution necessarily ideal, inherently?
Personally I go for analog oldschool sound more often than nto, but thats me. Im more interested in what interests me than evolving the style, not to say I dont have an interest in evolution, its just not waht I feel is priority one for my work.

i saw him live a few weeks ago, most of the songs i found a bit boring but this one hits the spot for me. regardless, his vibes are in the right place that is for sure.
