I watch this every now and then just to remind myself how much there still is to learn. However remember that Liam did this before there were the tools that work with elastic audio and so on, he probably did it all on hardware samplers and sequencers which is a huge accomplishment. Perhaps he even used an early tracker, nevertheless this is fantastic!

Here's another one

the technology has moved forward far faster than we are finding ways to use it.

props to prodigy indeed, like you said this just shows how the possibilities are endless and chasing after version X.12323556 of a program or downloading some 20gb sample bank doesn't mean you are being creative, developing as an artist or making unique music.

it is all in the mind

These are my two absolute favourite ableton videos. I watch them all the time just to inspire me about creative sampling.

If you're interested, you can get the samples he made for the videos off his website. I've got both sets laying around somewhere.

The people who made music from 1995 to 2000-2001 were people who had MUSIC KNOWLEDGE and TRUE LOVE for what they were doing and thats why all the good music in all electronic music genres comes from this era (especially psy trance) because the people involved in music production were serious about it and spend a lot of time, money and effort on making a single track.

Now with everyone being able to make "music" with just a computer the standards have become very very low since every amateur can claim to be an artist from his bedroom.

Liam is a genious and i dont even dare to imagine how difficult it was 15 years ago to produce these amazing tracks.           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!

in the other hand it gave oportunities to new musicians that by that time in the past ( before 2001) wouldnt have the oportunity to become eletronic producers for lack of profit or acessible tecnology...

it s just matter of human beins learn to filter now what s good what s not..

The standard has indeed been lowered, too such an extent that even the most talented musician no longer stands a chance against the next one who has the biggest promotion pool known to the internet. Nevertheless Liam is a genious and his production skills has evolved just as technology. The new stuff is ear-candy technically but not as much musically to me.

imo it s his tools and knowing them inside out that made his sound ,if he was using just a computer and all the cool new software these tunes would probably not exist (he would have made some other amazing one with his talents no doubt)but the tools used contribued to the great tunes of that times imo . using a hardware set up or just a computer based studio will lead to different tunes for many producers both can be great it s talents that count, but the music and sound will be different .
