Just what Cubase and Logic do that I cant do in Reason??

I'm trying to know all these programs, but Cubase and Logic dont run in my computer!!
I got an old machine... so what do they do??
I got Reason and I think it is a very powerfull software!! (I know everybody will tell me: So, upgrade your machine and move to Logic and Cubase... but I'm already going to do that someday, for now, I just wanna know WHY!?)

Reason 'models' a studio.
Logic and Cubase are like the sequencer in Reason with more detail, options and expandability. You can make use of more plug-ins, FX, VST's and you get proffessional Audio and Midi options to connect, say, 'real' synths to it.
And you can always use Reason within Logic/Cubase, great for percussion programming!
Someday you'll tire of Reasons sound quality too - but its a great way to learn signal flow and studio routing.

basically the sound quality is much better in Logic or cubase.
Also the effects are much much better, the EQ
are just soooooo much better.
So if i were u i would look into it, it is really worth the change. I used to be like u, making music in reason and wondering if swiching to logic would improve my sound that much. Since i switched to logic i don't even use reason anymore... |

as I told ya, for now I have an old machine.. and thats all I have, thats why I'm on Reason...
when I have some money to spent for sure I'll move on...
SuperGlue: can you (or anyone) tell me some good sites to read the lamme stuff ?? (I think I'm that level yet)

feiges, which exactly problem you have with your computer, if you can run Reason and not Cubase/Logic? HW requirements don't differ in all these programs.
now about the quality....guys.... WTF r u talking about ?
Reason is a great tool for virtual work.
if u run only software - you can manage great with Reason. (especially with reason 2)
there are many tracks made with reason only.
all you need is a good audio interface, and monitors to tune.
don't know where exactly the EQ of cubase is better. noise levels don't get up in reason more than in cubase.
and now about the lack of plugins. FYI all the plugins in the world are combination of:
echo, reverb, filter(LP,BP,HP),compressor, amp and delay controlled in different manner (maybe i forgot 2-3 other basic), as for morphing plugs (like pitch shifter etc. - they can be avoided)
i mean: if you have 10000 vsti's, it doesn't make your studio better, hope all of you heard "Dancing with Kaddafi" reason file.
the problem comes when you begin working with hardware synths - it is very inconvenient to load large audio tracks into reason's sampler (though it is possible) or (maybe) in professional studio recordings: they often use logic/cubase or others (e.g. protools), but it is easy to translate your track into audio, so this problems are minor.
bottom line: stay with reason, control it, and move on when you begin working with hardware.

i know that Cubase is more pro app than Reason but I just dont know why... this was purpose for this topic!!
But I think I just dont knew it cuz I dont know nothing about music production. About a couple months ago I've got Rebirth and since that I've been past my time over a computer trying to put some ideas on my speakers!! Then I went to Fruity.. thought its the best... then I dl the Reason demo... saw Cubase and Logic in a friends computer... went to some studios... and there is a new world for me!!
I didnt ask what is best! I just ask what can I do in Cubase/Logic that I cant in Reason!! Coz I believe there are things I can do in Rebirth/Fruity that I cant do in any other app...
and about my machine... it's a K6-500 320Mb Ram with and onboard soundcard!! It just cant handle cubase/logic!! I've bought a SB Audigy MP3+ in December... now I know I did shit!! I'll try to sell it.. and get a more Pro SC!!
